Fried paneer

The recipe

One batch makes 4 portions, in 15m start to finish.

Ingredients for 4 portions

Method

  1. Cut paneer cheese into 2 cm cubes.
  2. Stir full fat greek yoghurt, ginger garlic paste, hot chilli powder, garam masala and salt together in a bowl. Tip in the paneer and turn to coat.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in your biggest non-stick frying pan over a medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the paneer in a single layer for 6 minutes, turning now and then, until golden on most sides. Fry it in batches if it won't fit, so it browns rather than steams.
