Filling
- Take the bramley apple and slice in half but just off-centre to avoid the core. Take the half with the core and follow the same step - repeat until you're left with a rather square looking apple core and 4 large segments of apple
- Discard the core and cut the apple into 0.5cm slices
- Distribute the sliced apples evenly across oven-safe tray(s) and compress down firmly with a fist
- Sprinkle over golden caster sugar
